Well, it's quite evident that I'm not a royal monarch, but I hold the title of queen in my own little realm. I'm Helen, a 49-year-old currently navigating another midlife crisis. The royalty in my life comprises my three youngish daughters, Pearl, Iris, and Coral Queenie (yes, that's her genuine middle name), along with two highly-strung designer cats and an absurdly fluffy dog. I'm a widowed single mum, a freelance Sales and Marketing Director for technology companies in the online education sector, a part-time hen wrangler, and a former beekeeper.
And just because all of that doesn't keep me frazzled enough, two years ago, I decided to dive headfirst into the world of ceramics at an art school in Hebden Bridge, nestled in the heart of the Pennines.
I've been experimenting with various ideas and concepts, some turning out dreadful, others just mediocre, and a few gifted as Christmas presents that I suspect only see the light of day when I visit. Some better ones might be worth selling instead of collecting dust in my house, where every surface is covered with Lego, dolls, and chargers!
